Monday, May 2nd

one of my favourite sunsets
Ok, we knew that it was going to get rougher, but that is somewhat subjective. Deb is not doing great lately, plain and simple, we had a crappy weekend. A couple of times after calls to oncology and radiation, we were prepared to go in to the hospital. Alas, Deb made it to today, and went for radiation with  Lizz at the helm.
Deb asked me to tell you all that she loved all the cards and wants to write back, but the effort of even holding a pen seems outrageous in her condition. So please understand that she would love to, but just can't.
Tomorrow being Tuesday, I will take her to radiation and then off to clinic to meet with the team. I suspect that they will hook her up to an IV of some sort and flush her full of fluids. She is not drinking enough, eating like a sparrow and generally doesn't leave the bedroom except for the toilet, and that seems quite frequent.

For the most part we are trying to keep things as normal as we can given the circumstances and keep as positive as is possible, but still tough.
friends who joined us in Italy were on our ship in Australia
The kids are fine, we all voted this evening and had Chris over for dinner and some TV. Tomorrow I have an early meeting and a full day after that. Work goes on relentlessly and spring is somewhat constipated in our park, but by next week, I suspect the laxatives will kick in.

Stay in touch, send us all your good thoughts, energies and prayers... we sure need them this week. The worst is yet to come apparently, as incomprehensible as that is....

Take good care
