Palm Sunday - April 17th

Palms in the sunset, Hawaii
Today is Palm Sunday ... As I drove home from dropping Christopher off at work, lots of devout parishioners were carrying palm fronds. We actually had a call at work last week from a woman who wanted to come in and cut the palm leaves off the trees in the Conservatory! That's right, can you believe that?

At any rate, today is another slow day for Deb, she is very tired  but downstairs in the living room. This is nice for both of us as I can work a bit in the eating area off the kitchen and still keep a close eye on her.

Lizz is off to the cottage with her Chris and Justin, one of Lizz's charges for the day to do some cleanup work. Not a particularly pleasant day, cool and very moist. As I tramped home from the local corner store with Deb's current craving, I was chilled and glad to get inside. Some adventuresome folk are parading around in shorts, duh! Well at least they think that it's spring.
We will have our dinner when Christopher gets home at 6:30 or so, and to his delight it is "eat anywhere you want" night. No dinner guests and not at the dinning room table. Deb I suspect will be in our room early.

Monday will be our regular date at chemo and radiation, but Deb has lots of questions to ask. Mostly about the scheduling of her internal radiation treatments as they will affect her medication regime. She must arrive at the hospital at 07:00 or earlier and like with any treatment with anaesthetics, nothing on your tummy. This is scary as it will be day three of her anti- nausea medication regime and it would not be good to skip it.
She also is booked for an ECG but her chest X-ray is current, and I'm not sure how much more radiation she needs... goodness sakes, she glows in the dark as it is!
I will tidy up a bit today, dishes, laundry (maybe) and get dinner underway... it will be an early night all round here again I suspect.

Tuesday is our official opening of the Neo-tropics exhibit at our zoo called "Toucan Ridge". So Monday promises to be a hectic one for my staff as I will not be in until Tuesday. Never thought that I would say it,  but thank goodness for my Blackberry (leash) as I can keep in touch from the hospital as needed.

Enjoy your week and the preparations for Easter Sunday, Passover and all the rest. Thanks for you kind words, letters, cards and warm wishes.
