Tuesday April 12

Spring has sprung and for sure the weeds survived the winter! This time of the year typically brings on a bulky bit of work for me, but a tougher season than most to  focus on the work ahead. Thankfully my supervisory crew are stepping in to lighten the load.
Deb is managing remarkably well. Early today at her clinic day with the medical folks, they remarked how well she looked, no nausea and manageable other side affects from the relentless radiation. All in all her clinic visit was momentary, and this is a good thing.

Lizz drove as  my schedule didn't allow much flexibility, so the two girls had some time together. Lizz's final exam is Wednesday so she is in serious preparation mode for that. Once completed then she will move into her practicum for the summer. Only a few more courses to go and she will be completely finished, and maybe even a job <lol>.

Deb's night was just fine as is the norm on a chemo day. The medications make her hungry but then she gets a lot of TV in as she doesn't sleep well. As she is into another good book, in true Deb style, rather than napping this afternoon to catch up, she got a "few" chapters under her belt. Tonight should be therefore a good sleeping night.

Christopher is suggesting that we have another "Son & Father" day this Saturday including another visit to our zoo. He really did enjoy our marathon shopping spree, lunch (on Dad) and scoping out the lions. All being equal and good weather we will at least do the zoo portion and perhaps lunch. By the way, his new wardrobe fits me too (tee hee).

Wednesday is usually the start of less than great days for Deb, so we expect slower days with more naps, which are good for her. I will drive Wed and Thurs juggling a heavy work commitment and requisite evening events, but as has been said, it is only for a few minutes anyway, Friday Lizz will take over again.

Loads of folks have offered to drive or go here and there for us; as nice as the offer is, the times that we might need outside help may be yet to come, so we are managing exceptionally well. We will  not hesitate to take the offers when the time comes.

Lizz's boyfriend's mom will be sending over a meal for us  every Friday evening, isn't that nice? Friday is typically an exhaustive day as it is the end of the work week and Deb is generally less active. Having not to think about  making the meal is sure nice, although  the kids are great at helping out in particular if I am later than usual coming home.  Good old M&M is reliable for a quick and tasty meal, a favourite for all. We do live in the heart of Little Italy, so there is no shortage of restaurants, food service outlets and watering holes, lots of choice within a matter of steps, so we are not suffering, at least according to the scales.

Thanks for all the correspondence, Deb loves to get mail as you know. Your good energies, thoughts and prayers are much appreciated.
